Talkpod's Youth Amateur Program supported the Greater Nashville & Middle Tennessee HamQuest with A36plus MAX handheld radios for the event's grand-prize and youth drawings.
The gathering was organized by the Wilson County Amateur Radio Club, W2WCR, at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center's Made in Tennessee Building.
A practical starting point
For a young licensee, a first handheld can make the move from studying to operating more tangible. The A36plus MAX supports analog FM operation; experienced mentors can help newcomers learn appropriate frequencies and operating procedures.
Talkpod's donation was intended to encourage that next step, connecting equipment access with the guidance available through local radio clubs.
We thank the Wilson County Amateur Radio Club and the HamQuest volunteers for their work welcoming newcomers. Supporting youth outreach remains a central part of how Talkpod contributes to the amateur radio community.
