The Kab-hegy Hermit's Lodge Radio Base: A High-Altitude Hub
A significant part of Normafa Műhely's operations revolves around its Kab-hegy Hermit's Lodge radio base. This elevated location boasts an altitude of 599 meters ASL (above sea level) with coordinates 47°2.83′ N, 17°39.41′ E (47.047161, 17.656865) and grid locator JN87TB. It's also recognized as SOTA summit KD-006, making it a prime spot for Summits on the Air (SOTA) activations.
The base uses the community callsigns HA5KNF and HA2KAB. Thanks to the Hungarian Meteorological Service (OMSZ), you can even view the Kab-hegy Hermit's Lodge radio base through their gallery.

- Bus: Volánbusz service 7386 (Veszprém – Ajka route) to the Zsófiapuszta stop.
- Train: GYSEV Veszprém – Ajka route to the Herend stop.

- Antenna accessories: Guy wires + accessories for masts, HF antenna, VHF/UHF antenna, coaxial cable, coaxial connectors, electrical wiring materials.
