Calling all radio enthusiasts in York Region (Aurora, Newmarket, Keswick, Richmond Hill, Thornhill), Southern Simcoe County (Bradford), and the western part of Durham Region! The York Region Amateur Radio Club (YRARC) welcomes you to join their vibrant community of ham radio operators.

Why Join the YRARC?

  • Connect with Fellow Hams: Attend their monthly meetings on the 1st Tuesday of every month (except July and August) at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. As of now, meetings are held online due to the pandemic. You can find the meeting link on their website (http://www.yrarc.org).
  • Learn and Grow: YRARC offers classes to help you acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become a licensed ham radio operator. Reach out to them directly to inquire about upcoming classes.
  • Get Licensed: Doug Holmes (VE3VS) and John Leonardelli (VE3IPS) are accredited examiners who can assist you in obtaining your ham radio license.
  • Stay Connected and Contribute: Utilize the club's network of repeaters for communication within the region. These include Analogue (VE3YRA, VE3YRC), D-STAR (VE3YRK), Fusion (VE3YRC), and DMR (VE3YRA) options. (Note: VE3YRC on 53.490 MHz is currently out of service.)
  • Active Participation: Enjoy the club's annual hamfest/fleamarket, considered the largest in Canada (typically held in early November). Check their website for details on upcoming events.
