🇯🇲 6Y7EI – Jamaica DXpedition Recap

March 13–24, 2025

The Emerald Isle DX Group (EIDXG) wrapped up another successful adventure—this time from the Caribbean island of Jamaica, operating under the callsign 6Y7EI. The team went QRT around 1500z on March 24th, having logged an impressive 101,000+ QSOs across 160–6 meters using multiple modes including CW, SSB, and FT8.

Highlights & Timeline:

  • March 13: The team—comprising ops from Ireland, Germany, and Denmark—arrived safely with all their gear. FT8 activity kicked off while antenna setup continued.

  • March 14–16: Stations became fully operational. A noise issue on low bands was resolved and antennas for 80/160m were deployed.

  • March 19: Jeremy EI5GM was seen proudly flying the familiar EIDXG flag.

  • March 22: The DXpedition neared 80K QSOs, and operators encouraged chasers to help push toward the 100K mark before shutdown.

  • March 24: Mission accomplished—over 101,000 QSOs logged before going QRT.
