VERON Zwolle (Afd. Zwolle) & VRZA IJsselmond (Afd. IJsselmond): A Collaborative Amateur Radio Community

Since 2003, VERON Afdeling Zwolle and VRZA Afdeling IJsselmond have combined their local chapter activities to jointly promote amateur radio in their respective regions. While the names "Afd. Zwolle" (for VERON) and "Afd. IJsselmond" (for VRZA) are maintained for the national associations, the combined group operates under the name Afdeling IJsselmond for all other communication.

  • VERON Afdeling Zwolle covers the area around Zwolle and several surrounding towns to its west.
  • VRZA Afdeling IJsselmond broadly covers the area within the triangle of Kampen, Ommen, and Harderwijk.

Chapter Meetings

The chapters hold joint meetings once a month, on the last Tuesday of the month.

  • No meetings are held in June, July, and August.
  • Location: Verenigingsgebouw 'De Kandelaar', J.W. van Lenthestraat 2 in 's-Heerenbroek.
  • Time: Meetings begin at 8:00 PM local time.
  • Atmosphere: These meetings are characterized by a friendly gathering where various aspects of the radio hobby are discussed. It's an excellent opportunity for transmitting and listening amateurs to exchange ideas and engage in personal conversations (QSOs).
  • Lectures: Throughout the season, efforts are made to organize evenings featuring lectures on diverse aspects of the radio hobby, including the use of computers in amateur radio.
  • Agenda: The specific agenda for upcoming meetings is published on the chapter's news page. Interested individuals are always welcome to attend.

QSL Post Service

As a member of either national association (VERON or VRZA), you have access to QSL card sending and receiving services.

  • The QSL manager is present during chapter meetings to collect your outgoing cards or for you to pick up incoming cards.
  • Afdeling IJsselmond's QSL region number is 49.
  • More information on sending QSL cards can be found on the Dutch QSL Bureau website.

Equipment Sales

During chapter meetings, members have the opportunity to sell their surplus equipment. If there is sufficient demand, a dedicated sales evening may be organized.

Chapter Call Signs

The chapter possesses two call signs for special events and contests: PI4AZL and PI4YSM.

  • Note: The chapter does not have a weekly radio round; the "IJsselmondronde" ceased in October 2006.
