VERON A39 Tilburg: A Hub for Amateur Radio Enthusiasts

Tilburg, NetherlandsVERON Afdeling 39 Tilburg is an active and welcoming club for amateur radio enthusiasts, with a history spanning approximately 50 years. The chapter fosters a vibrant community through regular meetings, a dedicated QSL service, and various activities.

Club Evenings

The club evenings are held on the second Thursday of every month, except for July and August.

  • Time: The club hall opens at 7:00 PM.
  • Location: Scouting Peerke Donders, Centaurusweg 140A, 5015 TA Tilburg.
  • Activities: These evenings, typically managed by Frans, offer a platform for:
    • Experimentation and self-building projects.
    • Lectures and demonstrations.
    • QSL card service.
    • Exchanging experiences and general discussions about the hobby.
    • Operating the club station.
    • Organizing field days.
  • Next Club Evening: The next club evening is scheduled for June 12, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM, following the annual meeting.
  • Portable Antennas Focus (June 12): Tjeerd PE1OJR will explain important considerations for operating portable while on vacation (paperwork, call signs, permissions, equipment, etc.). Members are encouraged to bring their portable antennas for comparison and shared learning. This will be followed by sharing vacation radio stories.
  • Submissions: Members are encouraged to share their experimental projects or any news for the newsletter by emailing a39@veron.nl or using the website's web form.

Tilburgse Radioronde (Tilburg Radio Round)

The Tilburg Radio Round is held every Sunday at 11:00 AM on 145.400 MHz. It is led by PF7DKW, who uses his own transmitter, which can also serve as the chapter's official transmitter, PI4TIL. Contributions for the round can be sent to PA3GDN@hotmail.com or a39@veron.nl.

QSL Service A39

The chapter provides a QSL service. As of August 28, 2024, Tinus (PF7DKW) has taken over the QSL service from Ton (PA1CC).

  • Pickup/Submission: QSL cards can be picked up or submitted for mailing via the bureau at the chapter meetings on the second Thursday of the month.
  • Sorting: When submitting cards, ensure they are properly sorted; otherwise, they will not be sent and will be returned.
  • Contact: For any questions or to arrange pick-up/submission, contact Tinus PF7DKW.

Other Activities

  • Field Days: The chapter organizes and participates in field days, with the PI4OSS Field Days scheduled for June 21-22, 2025.
  • Contesting: Several members are active in the VERON Chapter Competition under the special call signs PA6T and PI4TIL.
  • Newsletter: The June 2025 newsletter is available for download.
