April 9–15, 2025
Operator: Haru, JA1XGI

Veteran Pacific DXpeditioner Haru, JA1XGI is currently active from Fakarava Atoll, part of French Polynesia (OC-066), using the callsign TX7XG. The DXpedition officially began operations on April 9, 2025, following Haru's arrival in Tahiti via Papeete after an 11-hour flight from Japan.

This solo expedition includes activity on HF bands and satellite (SAT), although SAT activity may be limited due to recent issues with IO-117. HF operations are expected across multiple bands, with QSL available via home call and LoTW uploads to follow post-expedition (free of charge).

Timeline Highlights:

  • September 2024: Expedition announcement.

  • January 2025: 6m antenna tested successfully; bandplan published.

  • April 2, 2025: Antennas fine-tuned and propagation planning completed.

  • April 9, 2025: Haru arrived in Tahiti and prepared to depart for Fakarava the next day.

Fakarava is a remote and beautiful atoll, making this IOTA activation especially exciting for chasers. Haru is well-known for his steady CW and FT8 operation, and many are eager to log this DXpedition.
