The 2026 Cincinnati Hamfest brought operators and electronics enthusiasts to the Clermont County Fairgrounds. Hosted by the Milford Amateur Radio Club, it also served as the ARRL Great Lakes Division Convention.
Talkpod supported the event through its Youth Amateur Program, helping make radio more approachable for students and newly licensed operators.
From curiosity to practical skills
A hamfest offers more than a chance to browse equipment. Newcomers can compare ideas, ask experienced operators about their stations, and discover how radio connects electronics with communication and public service.
Talkpod's youth initiative supports that learning through accessible equipment and relationships with local clubs. Mentors remain central: their advice helps beginners make informed choices and gain confidence as they start operating.
We thank Ronald Brooks, AC8MA, the Milford Amateur Radio Club, and the volunteers who contributed their time and knowledge to the event.
