The Sumter Amateur Radio Association (SARA), with call sign W4GL, has been serving the Sumter, SC community since 1976. As an ARRL Special Service Club, SARA welcomes anyone interested in amateur radio. Whether you're a seasoned operator or a newcomer, SARA offers resources, support, and a strong sense of community.

Meeting Schedule:
The club meets on the third Monday of every month at 7 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2325 Camden Hwy, Sumter, SC. It's advisable to call ahead to confirm the meeting schedule. -
Membership:
SARA welcomes both licensed amateur radio operators and associate members (those who are not yet licensed). Only licensed members are allowed to vote on club matters. -
Club Services:
- VE Testing: SARA conducts VE (Volunteer Examiner) testing sessions throughout the year. Testing dates include February 17th, June 15th, August 17th, and November 16th. These sessions take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
- License Test Sessions: SARA helps potential hams earn their licenses by offering test sessions.
