Elvira, IV3FSG, has extended her DXpedition from Moroni, Comoros—now scheduled to run until March 31 (possibly April 1, 2025)—and the QSO count is rapidly approaching 50,000 as of 2200z on March 15. Here are the key updates:
-
Extended Operation & QSO Milestone:
What was originally planned to end on March 18 has now been extended, and the team is celebrating nearly 50K QSOs so far. -
Equipment & Antenna Setup:
The expedition features a 60m dipole, a DX Challenger vertical, and a 6m delta-loop, ensuring solid performance across the HF spectrum. -
On-Site Mentorship:
In a wonderful initiative, Elvira is mentoring three local youths—thanks to Don (7Q6M/D60AB)—to learn antenna setup and pile-up management ahead of this year’s YOTA Summer Camp in France. -
Media & Logs:
Photos courtesy of IV3FSG and IK0XBX capture the vibrant atmosphere of the expedition. Logs are uploaded to Club Log, and QSLs are processed via IK2WAD and LoTW.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Comoros, and 73 from the team!
