[QRT Update]
The 3B9DJ team has now concluded their operation from Rodrigues Island, after reaching almost 80,000 QSOs. They thank all the operators for their support and QSOs during the expedition. The team also had the opportunity to get Robert, 3B9FR back on air after a year-long absence, which was a highlight of the operation. For future updates on the team, follow their Facebook page.
April 3rd – 70K QSOs
The team reached 70,000 QSOs as of April 2nd, and they continued to operate on various bands, including 6m, with the help of an old Heathkit amplifier on 6m. The team is expected to remain active until April 5th.
April 1st – 6M Activity
The team began 6m FT8 operations, reaching 26,000 QSOs by noon on April 1st. The team also worked on 160m and 80m antennas, capturing stunning shots of their operations.
March 24th – Arrival and Setup
After arriving on Rodrigues Island on March 24th, the team quickly set up their stations and antennas. Their first signals were heard on 15m CW and 17m SSB. The team faced some challenges, including difficult weather conditions, but continued to operate with good success.
March 7th – Team Preparation
In the weeks leading up to the expedition, the Czech DX Team, including David OK6DJ, Milan OK7GU, and others, prepared equipment for the Rodrigues Island activation. The team was excited to activate IOTA 3B9 with operations planned on 160-10m using CW, SSB, and FT8 modes.
