PI4VLI is an amateur radio club affiliated with the Dutch national amateur radio organization, VERON. The club's roots trace back to 1980 when a group of newly licensed young amateurs formed a contest group that quickly became highly active on both the 2-meter and HF bands.
Unique Location and Current Projects
The club operates from a unique and historically significant location: a German World War II bunker. This provides an ideal setting for QRO (high-power) amateur radio operations.
Currently, the PI4VLI crew is in the process of building a large six-element 14 MHz monoband antenna. They aim to have this new setup active for the 2009/2010 contest season, which has now passed, suggesting they have likely been operating with it for some time.
Visiting the Bunker and Contact Information
The bunker is open every Sunday afternoon starting at 2:00 PM.
