AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — The VERON afdeling Amsterdam (VERON Section Amsterdam), founded in August 1945, is a diverse and active amateur radio club that welcomes not only licensed operators but also shortwave listeners and anyone interested in electronics. This broad membership ensures a wide range of engaging topics for discussion and problem-solving.
Location and Meetings
Since 2000, the section has held its club evenings in the historic Haarlemmermeerstation in Amsterdam. The former conductor's quarters of the EMA provide ample space for meetings and lectures. Excellent public transport connections make the location easily accessible.
During club evenings, members can engage in various activities:
- Experimentation
- Homebrew projects
- Lectures on various topics
- QSL card service for exchanging confirmation cards
- Sharing experiences
- Casual conversations about the hobby
Additionally, some members actively participate in the VERON Section Competition.
