Welcome to the Livingston & District Amateur Radio Society (L.A.D.A.R.S)—a vibrant community of amateur radio enthusiasts based in Livingston, West Lothian. Whether you're new to the world of radio or a seasoned operator, L.A.D.A.R.S offers something for everyone with its focus on training, operating, and camaraderie.


Where and When We Meet

The club meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM at the Crofthead Farm Community Centre, located at:

Templar Rise, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6DG
The venue is fully accessible for disabled members.

This welcoming space serves as the hub for the club's training sessions, operating evenings, and social interactions.


Training and Licenses

L.A.D.A.R.S prides itself on nurturing new talent and advancing skills in amateur radio. The club offers structured training courses to help members progress through the Foundation, Intermediate, and Full Licence levels. Members receive hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment in the club's well-equipped radio shack.


Explore the Radio Shack

The heart of the club is its radio shack, which boasts a wide range of modern equipment for members to explore and use:

  • Icom IC-7300: HF operation at its finest.
  • Icom VHF/UHF rigs: Perfect for local and regional communication.
  • Pi-Star Digital Repeater: Supporting DMR, D-STAR, and Fusion modes.
  • Antennas Galore: Including a rotator, Yagi antenna, and colinear antennas for 70cm, 2m, and 6m bands.

Our club callsign, MS0LIV, is proudly registered with the RSGB, with Neil Morris serving as the registered keeper.


Club Activities and Events

Livingston & DARS is more than just a weekly meeting—it’s a thriving community that hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year:
