The Lancaster & Fairfield County Amateur Radio Club (K8QIK) is a dedicated and long-standing amateur radio club based in Lancaster, Ohio. Affiliated with the ARRL since May 13, 1960, the club has been serving the local community through a variety of radio services, educational programs, and emergency response initiatives.


About K8QIK

The Lancaster & Fairfield County Amateur Radio Club is an active group that brings together amateur radio operators from across the region to engage in a wide range of activities, including digital modes, DX (long-distance radio communication), public service, emergency communications, and repeater maintenance. The club also encourages education, offering license classes and technical support to newcomers and seasoned operators alike.


Activities and Services

  • Digital Modes: The club is involved in various digital communication modes, making it accessible for modern ham radio operators.
  • DX and General Interest: Members participate in long-distance communication and explore various aspects of amateur radio.
  • Public Service and Emergency: Active in emergency communications and support for public service events.
  • VHF/UHF Repeaters: The club operates and maintains repeaters to facilitate communication over a wide area.
  • Packet Radio BBS: The club provides a packet radio bulletin board system for members and others in the community.

Meetings and Location

  • Meeting Time: The first Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM.
