VESZPRÉM, Hungary — The Bakony Rádióklub (Bakony Radio Club), operating under the callsign HA2KSD, shares a unique and formally established sister club relationship with the Csíkszeredai Sportklub Rádióamatőr Szakosztálya (Csíkszereda Sports Club Amateur Radio Section - YO6KNE) from Csíkszereda, Romania. This official partnership began in 2001.
A Formal Bond Forged Through Effort
While the connection between the two clubs predates the official declaration, formalizing the sister club relationship took nearly a year of extensive preparation, documentation, and coordination. The process was further complicated by the introduction of new sports laws in both Hungary and Romania midway through the preparations, leading to significant delays due to name changes and legal interpretations. The sister club status was even enshrined in the Bakony Rádióklub's bylaws, necessitating extraordinary club general meetings.
A Fading Connection, A Call for Revival
Since the formalization, both clubs have participated in each other's events on several occasions. However, the previously daily contact between them has unfortunately ceased. The club acknowledges that reviving this once-active relationship would be beneficial, but expresses concern that the aging and gradually dwindling active membership makes such a revival challenging.
The original foundational document of this partnership exists, serving as a testament to the strong bond that was formally established between HA2KSD and YO6KNE.
