The Ducks on the Air club at the University of Oregon (UO) is a dynamic student-led amateur radio group, making waves in the local and extended Eugene communities. Founded in January 2021, this club continues to build on a rich history of amateur radio in Eugene, where the first station was affiliated with the Department of Physics as early as 1922.

Club Overview
The University of Oregon's Ham Radio Club, known as Ducks on the Air, is affiliated with the ARRL and has grown to become an active hub for students and faculty interested in all things amateur radio. The club's callsign is N7DUX, and it’s actively involved in contesting, digital modes, DXing, general interest, and public service/emergency communication.
In addition to its exciting radio activities, Ducks on the Air provides opportunities to connect with others in the world of ham radio, including entry-level license classes and mentorship programs.
Meetings & Events
Ducks on the Air meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, and during the summer, meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday only. Meetings are held via Zoom or at the club shack on the University of Oregon campus, making it easy for both local and remote members to participate.
As a student group, they offer a fantastic opportunity to get involved with radio, expand your knowledge, and connect with like-minded individuals. The group focuses on hands-on learning with the ultimate goal of fostering both technical skills and a sense of community.
