Calling all radio enthusiasts in Elliot Lake and the North Shore! The Elliot Lake Amateur Radio Club (ELARC) welcomes you to discover the fascinating world of ham radio.
Your Gateway to Ham Radio in Elliot Lake
While the ELARC doesn't currently have a website, they offer a welcoming and supportive environment for anyone interested in exploring ham radio.
Why Join the ELARC?
- Connect with Fellow Hams: Regular meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at the Elliot Lake Civic Centre. They also have a 2-meter net on the VE3TOP repeater every Tuesday evening, followed by an informal gathering at McDonald's. Saturday morning breakfasts provide another opportunity for casual interaction.
- Develop Your Skills: The ELARC is committed to helping new members get licensed. They offer courses "as required" and encourage anyone interested to reach out for support.
- Stay Engaged: Participate in the weekly net on VE3TOP (147.000 MHz+) and join the club's activities like the annual picnic (potluck) in August and Field Day atop the Mountain at the Fire Tower Lookout.
- Contribute to the Community: The ELARC actively participates in ARES communication tests, demonstrating the valuable role of ham radio in emergency situations.
