Canton Amateur Radio Club (Canton ARC): Connecting Hams and Serving the Community

The Canton Amateur Radio Club (Canton ARC), under the call sign W8AL, is a dedicated group of amateur radio enthusiasts based in Canton, Ohio. Affiliated with the ARRL Special Service Club, the club has a rich history of promoting the growth and education of amateur radio and contributing to the community through public service and emergency communication efforts.

Club Mission and Activities

The Canton ARC’s mission is clear: to provide educational and charitable services, while bringing together people who share an interest in amateur radio and its various applications. The club fosters a community spirit and works to improve the knowledge and skills of its members, focusing on both technical aspects of amateur radio and its public service potential.

One of the club’s key activities is its monthly meetings, held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM at the Stark County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) building. The meetings are an opportunity for members to discuss club activities, plan upcoming events, and share knowledge and experiences.

The club also holds a Monthly Breakfast on the second Saturday of each month at 8:30 AM at the Menches Bros Canton Restaurant, providing an informal setting for members to socialize, share ideas, and enjoy a meal together.
