Bonac Amateur Radio Club: Amplifying Community Connections

The Bonac Amateur Radio Club (BARC) operates under the call sign K2EC, bringing together radio enthusiasts from the Amagansett region. Meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 PM at the Amagansett Library, the club fosters a close-knit community passionate about amateur radio’s broad applications, from contesting and digital modes to youth engagement and public service communications.

BARC, affiliated with the ARRL since 2006, offers comprehensive services, including entry-level license classes and test sessions. With a focus on VHF/UHF operations and repeater use, the club provides a welcoming platform for both beginners and seasoned operators.

Led by President Eddie Schnell (WZ2Y) and supported by Vice President Stephen Casko (W2SFC) and Treasurer Jerome Tauber (WA2YMR), BARC encourages hands-on learning and community engagement. Its 34 members, including 25 ARRL-affiliated, are united in their enthusiasm for advancing amateur radio knowledge and service.
