Amateur Radio Alliance Inc: Bridging Communities Through Waves of Connection

In the heart of San Germán, Puerto Rico, at a cozy corner of Mike's Steak House, a small but mighty group gathers on the last Sunday of every month at 7 PM. This is the Amateur Radio Alliance Inc (KP4ARA), a club of seven dedicated members united by their shared passion for amateur radio and their commitment to community service.

A Vision Rooted in Connection

Founded and affiliated with ARRL on May 8, 2024, the Amateur Radio Alliance Inc. is not just a club but a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. With specialties ranging from contests and digital modes to youth engagement and public service, KP4ARA embodies the spirit of amateur radio as a tool for both connection and empowerment.

Leadership with a Purpose

At the helm of KP4ARA is Wanda I. Gonzalez Gomez (KP4NYC), the club’s contact and guiding force. Alongside her is Emilio Ortiz (WP4KEY), serving as the President and Editor, whose passion for radio communication inspires others to join this close-knit alliance.

Programs and Services

KP4ARA’s offerings are as diverse as its members:

  • Entry-Level License Classes: Providing foundational knowledge to aspiring amateur radio enthusiasts.
  • Mentorship: Guiding new operators through the nuances of the hobby.
  • Repeaters and Packet Radio BBS: Ensuring seamless communication across the airwaves.
  • Club Newsletter: Keeping members informed and engaged.

An Invitation to Join

Despite its small size, KP4ARA welcomes anyone who shares their love for radio and community. Their monthly meetings are not just formal gatherings but opportunities to share stories, exchange knowledge, and strengthen bonds over shared interests.

Whether you’re drawn to the technical challenges of digital modes or the thrill of contests, KP4ARA offers a welcoming space for all. It’s more than a club—it’s a family connected by the waves of communication and a shared mission to serve.
