The 2026 Shelby Hamfest has successfully concluded, marking another memorable year for one of the region’s long-standing amateur radio gatherings.
Organized by the Shelby Amateur Radio Club (SARC), the event celebrated the 70th Annual Shelby Hamfest, bringing together amateur radio operators, families, vendors, organizations, and radio enthusiasts from across the region.
Talkpod was pleased to support this year’s event by providing products as door prizes, adding another element of excitement for attendees while contributing to the continued growth of the amateur radio community.
Bringing the Amateur Radio Community Together
For seven decades, the Shelby Hamfest has served as a gathering place where radio amateurs can meet face-to-face, exchange ideas, discover equipment, share technical knowledge, and strengthen friendships within the hobby.
Events like the Shelby Hamfest are about much more than radios and equipment. They help connect experienced operators with newcomers, give clubs an opportunity to introduce amateur radio to a wider audience, and create an environment where knowledge and enthusiasm can be passed from one generation to the next.
That community spirit is one of the reasons Talkpod continues to support amateur radio clubs and Hamfest events.
A Message from the Shelby Hamfest Team
Following the event, Keith Blanton, KM4DWY, from the Shelby Hamfest team, shared a message of appreciation with Talkpod:

At Talkpod, we believe supporting amateur radio means supporting the people, clubs, volunteers, and events that keep the hobby active.
Hamfests provide valuable opportunities for operators to meet one another beyond the airwaves. They allow experienced hams to share their knowledge, newcomers to explore the hobby, clubs to recruit new members, and manufacturers to hear directly from the people who use radio equipment in the real world.
We are grateful to the Shelby Amateur Radio Club and everyone involved in organizing the 2026 Shelby Hamfest for the time and effort required to make an event of this scale possible.
