68th Annual Shelby Hamfest - ARRL North Carolina State Convention 2024

Join us for the 68th Annual Shelby Hamfest, proudly hosted by the Shelby Amateur Radio Club (SARC). This ARRL-sanctioned event is a must-attend for amateur radio enthusiasts, featuring a wide range of activities, vendors, and opportunities to connect with fellow hams.

Hours of Operation:

• Friday, August 30, 2024: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Buildings & Flea Market)
• Saturday, August 31, 2024:
  • Gates open at 7:00 AM (Outside Vendors)
  • Inside Vendor Buildings: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Sunday, September 1, 2024:
  • Gates open at 7:00 AM (Outside Vendors)
  • Inside Vendor Buildings: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Prizes:

• Pre-reg Prize Draw: An AnyTone AT-778UV II will be drawn at 4:00 PM on Friday.
• Grand Prize Draw: An Icom 7300 will be drawn at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 31st.
• Hourly Prize Drawings: Held on Saturday, including Dual Band Alinco HTs every other hour. Major prizes may be shipped if the winner is not present.

VE Exams:

• Wednesday, August 28, 2024: 4:00 PM at the hamfest site, coordinated by WCARS VE, Inc.
• Saturday, August 31, 2024: 2:00 PM at Comfort Inn, 2021 E Marion St, Shelby, NC. The WCARS fee is $10.00 for the exam; the first exam is free for applicants under 18.

Forums:

• Forums will be posted on the Shelby Hamfest website as they become scheduled.

Camping:

• Full hookup and primitive sites are available. The fairgrounds are undergoing renovations, so there may be changes between now and the hamfest dates.

Flea Market:

• Spaces (limit 5) will first be available on "Land Rush" Sunday, August 25th, at 8:00 AM, and continuing thereafter.

Location:

• 1751 E Marion St, Shelby, NC. Parking is on the north side of the fairgrounds off Ferris Wheel Blvd, off Kemper Rd, off E Marion St. Directory signs will be posted.
