DXpedition Update – May 23:
In what the team humorously dubbed “Jurassic Park Strikes Back in the Countryside,” the Z68YL & Z68OM operation encountered a massive — and unexpected — challenge. A herd of 50 cows stormed through their antenna field, toppling guy wires and chomping through feedlines “like tasty licorice.” Soon after, 50 sheep were spotted prowling suspiciously near the setup. 🐑

Despite the barnyard drama, nearly 3,000 QSOs have already been logged. The team remains in high spirits, working with local landowners to get back on the air quickly.

Operational Notes:

  • Power: 500W on multiple bands.

  • QSL: LoTW uploads daily — free of charge!

  • Equipment: 2x FTDX10, Elecraft K3, and SPE Expert 1.3K-FA amps.

  • Antennas: EFHW-8010-1K, 30–10m vertical (still pending), 60m dipole, and 160m inverted-L.

Tracking: Follow their live progress on Club Log LiveStream.

With more band activity expected soon, this DXpedition is still full steam ahead — assuming no more hoofed interruptions!
