I'm a very amateur radio enthusiast. I've had and used a HAM radio in my truck for years, now, but really liked the idea of having a portable one which is why I picked this up. The GMRS range is pretty good at more than 1.5 miles on the highway, and even has a good 1/2 mile range in woods without too many hills. Great buy!
Very impressed with this radio puts out amost full 5 watts it is advertised at no problems reaching repeaters and audio is nice and clear.
