Welcome to DARC Ortsverband Murgtal (A5Ø): Celebrating 40 Years of Amateur Radio Activity

As we celebrate 40 years of DARC Ortsverband Murgtal (A5Ø), 2025 is set to be a year of exciting activities for us! With the DLØMUR club station at the forefront of our operations, we are proud to offer the special DOK 4ØA5Ø throughout the year to commemorate our founding in 1985. The activation of this special DOK station can be viewed on QRZ.com.

Our Club Activities and Stations

Our club station, DLØMUR, is at the heart of the Murgtal district and plays an active role in various amateur radio activities. To help us celebrate our 40th anniversary, we invite members and enthusiasts to activate the club station and make contacts using the 4ØA5Ø DOK. By doing so, you'll receive a special certificate for participating in this momentous occasion.

Repeater Info: DBØTFM Our UHF relay station DBØTFM is located on the Teufelsmühlenturm, and serves as a Digipeater, Echolink, and a digital mode relay. With frequencies available on 439.000 MHz (FM) and 438.6625 MHz (DMR and C4FM), this station continues to support local communication. For full details, visit www.aprs.fi/db0tfm-1.

Enhancing APRS in Murgtal

Our APRS system, DBØTFM-1, located at Teufelsmühle, continues to provide real-time position tracking for various vehicles, such as cars, motorhomes, and bikes, as well as other data like weather information. Our system can be monitored on aprs.fi, with the ability to track paths and routes of callsigns.

QSL Cards and Member Services

Our club supports efficient QSL card exchange for members, leveraging the DARC QSL service. Since 2019, we’ve been uploading our logs to platforms such as DCL, LotW, and eQSL. We encourage members to organize their outgoing QSL cards by country and follow guidelines to ensure smoother operations. For more information, please refer to the DARC QSL Bureau.

Monthly Meetings and Activities

We hold regular OV-Abende (Club meetings) every second Friday of the month, where both licensed amateurs and newcomers are always welcome to join. We meet at the Restaurant Zum Alten Schweden in Bad Herrenalb, located at Dobeltal 30, 76332. These gatherings allow members to exchange ideas, discuss technical topics, and enjoy social interactions.

Additionally, we have various activities throughout the year:

  • Field Days: We organize outdoor operations for hands-on practice.
  • Contests and Diplomas: Our members participate in various contests and are actively involved in obtaining various amateur radio diplomas.
  • Morse Code (CW) Operation: CW (Morse code) is a significant activity in our club, and we encourage both learning and competition in this method.
