Founded in 1991, SELARC boasts a dedicated membership of over 70 hams. They are committed to promoting all aspects of amateur radio, fostering fellowship among radio enthusiasts, and offering educational opportunities for aspiring operators.

What SELARC Offers:

• Become Licensed: SELARC provides entry-level and potentially higher license classes to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain your amateur radio license.
• Test Your Knowledge: The club offers licensing exam sessions, so you can qualify to become a licensed ham operator.
• Find a Mentor: Connect with experienced members who can answer your questions and guide you on your ham radio journey.
• Stay Informed: Get club updates and news through the SELARC newsletter, featuring announcements and information relevant to the ham radio community.
• Expand Your Horizons: SELARC caters to a wide range of interests, including contests, digital modes, DX (long-distance communication), general operation, public service, repeaters, and VHF/UHF communication.
• Contribute to Your Community: SELARC is committed to public service and emergency preparedness.
• Connect and Share: Attend monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7 PM at the Ponchatoula Community Center (300 N 5th St). These meetings provide a platform for members to network, share experiences, and learn from each other.
• Experience the Broader Ham Radio Community: SELARC even hosts an annual Hamfest, a gathering of ham radio enthusiasts offering a chance to buy, sell, and trade equipment, as well as connect with fellow operators.
