A Legacy of Radio Excellence
The Triple ‘A’ Amateur Radio Association, Inc. (WW3AAA) is a club with deep roots in the Beaver County, PA area. Founded in 1972, this club has been a driving force in both amateur radio and community service for over 50 years. Known for its high standards and active participation, Triple ‘A’ is more than just a club—it's a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of amateur radio.
Leading the Charge with Technology
The Triple ‘A’ club isn’t just about talking on the airwaves—they’re about leading the charge in amateur radio technology. As the first licensed repeater in the 3-call zone, they’ve set a high bar for others in the region. The club boasts an impressive array of repeaters, including four that cover 2 meters, 220 MHz, and 440 MHz frequencies. The club’s 146.85 and 147.135 repeaters are even linked to Echolink, expanding the reach of their communications and connecting operators across the globe.
Public Service and Emergency Comms: A True Community Asset
True to the spirit of amateur radio, Triple ‘A’ is heavily involved in emergency communications (EmComm). The club’s efforts in Public Service go far beyond just radio talk; they actively support local emergency services and public events, ensuring that communication systems remain robust when it counts the most.
They’re also involved in Parks on the Air (POTA) activities, providing on-the-air bulletins and emergency support when necessary. But their work doesn’t stop there—every week, members participate in Public Service Nets and Club Nets, giving them a chance to stay sharp while also giving back to the community.
Weekly Digital Training and Mentorship Opportunities
The club's dedication to improving their members’ skills is clear. During the winter months, Triple ‘A’ runs a weekly digital training roundtable, ensuring their members are up-to-date with the latest communication technologies. Whether you’re interested in digital modes or just want to hone your skills, there's no shortage of opportunities to get involved.
The club also hosts regular license test sessions, ensuring that anyone interested in obtaining their amateur radio license has access to the resources they need. A dedicated mentorship program helps new and prospective members find their footing in the world of ham radio.
