Club Description

The St. Charles Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) was founded in 1973 by a group of St. Louis area amateur radio enthusiasts. Today, SCARC has grown to nearly 120 members, with many original charter members still active. The club actively participates in community service, providing communication support for events like Celebrate St. Peters and the Cystic Fibrosis Ride for Life. SCARC members are also trained weather spotters, assisting the National Weather Service and the St. Charles County Department of Emergency Management during severe weather events.

SCARC offers licensing classes for all levels (Technician, General, Amateur Extra) and provides hands-on ham classes. VE exams are held monthly, and Elmers (mentors) are available to assist with ham radio-related questions.
