The SV1GA/A operation from Mount Athos has stirred considerable discussion in the DX community, with ongoing challenges related to the legalities of the activation. Although the SV1GA team operated successfully for about 10 days and made over 10,000 QSOs, a delay in the accreditation process has raised some concerns regarding the legitimacy of the operation.

Key Updates:

  1. Paperwork Delays: The accreditation process with the ARRL and the Greek authorities has caused some delays. Despite the team's efforts to obtain proper permission, questions remain regarding the exact legal framework for operating from this unique location.

  2. Support for Mt. Athos Monasteries: All proceeds from this DXpedition are being donated to support the monasteries on Mount Athos, aiding their restoration and maintenance efforts.

  3. Challenges Faced: The activation has sparked both support and criticism from the community. While many enthusiasts are excited by the rare opportunity, there have been concerns raised about the transparency of the operation and its compliance with Greek regulations.

  4. QSL Information: QSL cards are available via IK2WAD and LoTW. The team also provided a manual log upload to Club Log for confirmation.

🔁 The team continues to work with local authorities and ARRL to clarify the situation, and hopes for a resolution to allow the logs to be fully recognized and for future activations from Mount Athos to be possible.

73 & good DX! 🌟
