Allen, KH7AL/KH9, has been actively operating from Wake Island, logging over 595 QSOs in one day of operation. Despite challenges like strong winds, bird interference, and setting up new equipment, he managed to make significant progress. This includes building a new DX Commander vertical antenna and planning a future CW operation on 12m.
Allen reports being able to continue operating using his dipoles and anticipates improved performance with the new Hexbeam antenna. He plans to devote the next week to CW operations, although he advises operators to go easy on him as he's still building his CW skills.
