Eric, KB1EHE, and Elsie, KB1IFZ, have successfully completed their Antarctica DXpedition, operating from various locations on the Antarctic Peninsula. They made excellent contacts despite facing tough conditions, including severe weather and challenging terrain. Due to approaching bad weather, they had to cut their expedition short and return to Chile ahead of schedule.
During their time on the National Geographic Explorer ship, they operated using their portable 20m station, making several QSOs on SSB and FT8. They also used their unique setup, including a telescopic vertical antenna, to operate while hiking on land. The duo operated with callsigns KC4/KB1EHE and KC4/KB1IFZ while on land, and C6A/MM while aboard the ship.
Eric and Elsie have expressed their gratitude for the experience and collaboration with the DX community, and they look forward to future expeditions. The final logs will be uploaded soon.
