Repost: D68Z – Comoros DXpedition Update

Elvira (IV3FSG) is extending her exciting DXpedition from the Comoros until March 31 (possibly even April 1), well beyond her original March 18 end date. As of 2200z on March 15, her QSO count is approaching an impressive 50,000 contacts!

Equipment & Setup:

  • The station features a robust 60m dipole, a DX Challenger vertical, and a 6m delta-loop—all helping to cover a wide range of HF frequencies.
  • On‑site photos (courtesy of IK0XBX) showcase the radio room and antenna installations that support her operation.

Mentorship & Community Outreach:
Elvira is not just focused on making contacts—she’s also mentoring three local youths. Thanks to Don (7Q6M/D60AB), these students are learning how to set up antennas and handle busy pile‑ups, preparing them for the upcoming YOTA Summer Camp in France this August.

Log & QSL Information:

  • Her logs are uploaded online to Club Log, and QSLs are processed via IK2WAD and LoTW.
  • For more details on her activity—including YOTA initiatives—please check her dedicated DXpedition page.

Stay tuned for more updates from this inspiring operation in the Comoros, and 73 for all the amazing QSOs!
