Repost: 3B8M – Mauritius

📡 Callsign: 3B8M
📍 Location: Mauritius (Indian Ocean)
🗓️ Dates: November 29–30, 2025 (CQWW CW Contest)
📶 Category: Multi/Multi (M/M)
👥 Team: G0CKV, KX7M, 4O3A, and others

The 3B8M team is back again from Mauritius for CQWW CW 2025, bringing their signature field-day-style operation to the shores of the Indian Ocean. All antennas and stations are assembled and disassembled around the contest weekend, with an impressive setup on a tiny islet exposed to the ocean, ensuring unobstructed take-off.

🌪️ Weather Drama (2024 Flashback):
Last year, Cyclone Bheki nearly jeopardized the operation. The team had to secure antennas, shutters, and shelter due to a Class I cyclone warning. With resilience and planning, they got back on the air in time.

🛰️ Antenna System:

  • 160m: Toploaded vertical (umbrella)

  • 80m: Inverted-L

  • 40m: Vertical dipole in the lagoon on a rock

  • 20/15/10m: VDAs and omni verticals

  • Experimenting with K9AY loop for RX on low bands

  • Stackmatch system by qro.cz for flexible band control

📻 Equipment Mix:
K3, FTdx10, FlexRadio systems
Amps: SPE, Juma, PGXL
Power: ~800W
In-band QSOs planned

💡 Note from HL2WA:
A reminder to accommodate FT8 frequency restrictions in Korea (e.g., 1810 KHz for 160m and 3547 KHz for 80m). Split frequency suggestions included for international compatibility.

🎯 Expect a strong, seasoned crew making their mark again in 2025.
