Welcome to the Ortsverband Sulzbach-Fischbachtal (Q08), a key part of the Saarland amateur radio community!

Club Overview

The Q08 club is active in promoting the spirit of amateur radio. Members meet every Friday at 19:00 in the "AL BACIO" restaurant in Quierschied, located directly at the market square. The club thrives on fostering connections through technology and radio communication while maintaining a welcoming environment for all.

Upcoming Events

The club's 2024 event calendar is packed with exciting activities:

1. March 22, 2024: Members Meeting with elections and member awards.

2. June 14–16, 2024: SAARLORLUX Friendship Meeting at the Youth Hostel in Weiherdange, Luxembourg.

   • Fun events include antenna tests and a celebration for the 55 years of the SaarLorLux Friendship Meeting.

3. September 7-8, 2024: SSB Field Day at Göttelborner-Höhe with the Q06 and Q08 clubs.

4. December 13, 2024: Year-End Celebration for both Q06 and Q08 clubs.

Club History

As Q08 celebrates 60 years in 2025, we’re excited for the upcoming Sonder DOK from June 1st, 2025: "DK0FT 60Q08". A grand celebration is planned on July 5th, 2025 at the Wiesengelände near Stefan Meyer (DB9VI)'s location in Heusweiler-Wahlschied.

Other Highlights

• QSL Card Distribution: The next card distribution is scheduled for March 14, 2025, facilitated by Dr. Hans-Ernst Marcolin (DK5VD), QSL Manager.

• The club also conducted a successful Field Day, with over 301 QSO's.
