Ortsverband Lichtenberg (D26): A Legacy of Amateur Radio Excellence in Berlin

Located in the district of Lichtenberg in Berlin, the Ortsverband Lichtenberg (D26) of the Deutscher Amateur-Radio-Club (DARC) has a rich history dating back to the days of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Known for its technical innovation, educational initiatives, and commitment to fostering the amateur radio spirit, the club continues to inspire and connect operators of all ages.

A Rich History
The Ortsverband Lichtenberg traces its roots to the former GST Amateurfunk Clubstation Y51ZO at the Engineering School for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Berlin-Ostkreuz. After the dissolution of the Radiosportverband der DDR (RSV) in 1991, many members joined the DARC. The club has since evolved, moving to its current location at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin in Oberschöneweide, where it operates the club station DF0LI.

Club Station and Activities
The club station DF0LI is housed in Building G on the HTW Berlin campus, providing a modern facility for members to engage in a wide range of activities, including contests, experiments, and public outreach. The station is a testament to the club’s commitment to technical excellence and community engagement.

The Ortsverband Lichtenberg is led by Gert Krumbholz (DL7UG), who serves as the primary point of contact for the club. With a passion for amateur radio and a dedication to the community, Gert ensures the club remains a vibrant and inclusive space for all.
