Description
The Opequon Radio Society (ORS) is a dedicated amateur radio club operating out of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. The club is deeply committed to public service, providing emergency communication support when needed. A standout feature of ORS is its dedication to fostering new talent in amateur radio through free license classes, often aimed at patients in the hospital, offering them study materials and encouragement to join the ham radio community.
ORS members participate in various amateur radio activities, including contests, DXing, digital modes, and repeater operations, fostering camaraderie and skill development among its members. The club also plays a vital role in emergency communication readiness in the area.
If you're interested in learning more about amateur radio or getting involved, ORS welcomes new members and encourages participation in their educational initiatives and monthly meetings.
