Neuss, Germany — The Deutscher Amateur-Radio-Club (DARC) Ortsverband Neuss (R11) is marking a major milestone in 2024: 65 years of connecting the world through amateur radio. From nostalgic Morse code to cutting-edge satellite communications, this vibrant club continues to unite generations of radio enthusiasts.
A Legacy of Radio Excellence
Founded in 1959, the Neuss club has been a cornerstone of Germany’s amateur radio scene, fostering technical skill, emergency preparedness, and global friendships. Today, under the leadership of Lars Oesten (DF1LON), the club blends tradition with innovation—whether experimenting with geostationary satellites (QO-100) or mastering digital modes like FT8.
Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
To honor its 65th anniversary, the club has secured a special callsign: DL0NS and DF0NN, activated with the distinctive "65R11" DOK (award code) from 1 October to 31 December 2024. Members will operate these calls worldwide, inviting contacts for commemorative QSL cards.
