Making a Simplex Call with Your Radio

Effective communication is key when using your radio. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make a simplex call using your device.

Step 1: Select Your Frequency

  1. Use the Keypad:

    • Enter your operating frequency directly using the keypad.
    • Alternatively, hold down the menu key to switch to channel mode and select your frequency.
  2. Set Your Transmission Power:

    • Press the menu button and choose the menu option 00 to set your transmission power.
    • Select a power level that suits your operating requirements:
      • High Power: "H"
      • Medium Power: "M"
      • Low Power: "L"

Step 2: Transmit Your Message

  1. Hold Down the PTT Button:

    • Hold down the [PTT] button to transmit, and speak into the microphone at your normal voice level.
    • The TX/RX indicator will light up red.
    • The S-meter will display the output power level.
  2. Release the PTT Button:

    • Release the [PTT] button to receive signals.
