The Lakeway Amateur Radio Club (LARC), proudly bearing the call sign W2IQ, has been a cornerstone of Morristown, Tennessee’s amateur radio community since its ARRL affiliation in 1979. With a vibrant membership of 60 dedicated individuals, LARC exemplifies the spirit of amateur radio—fostering communication, learning, and community service.
A Community of Enthusiasts
LARC offers a welcoming environment for radio enthusiasts of all skill levels. Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM, hosted in the First Baptist Church Student Center on Main Street, Morristown. These gatherings provide a platform for:
- Discussing the latest in digital modes and DXing.
- Engaging in educational workshops and hands-on activities.
- Strengthening bonds among radio operators.
Led by President Michael S. Satterfield (WX4HYD) and supported by an experienced leadership team, LARC thrives on inclusivity and technical innovation.
