Description
The Johnston Amateur Radio Society (JARS) is well-known for its annual JARSFEST, a popular hamfest event held on the third Sunday of November in Benson, NC. Regular meetings occur monthly at the Pizza Inn in Garner, except for special gatherings held three times a year. JARS members are deeply involved in the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), assisting with disaster communications across North Carolina since 1975. The group actively supports emergency operations through personal equipment donations and community service, helping connect affected areas with Emergency Operations Centers.
