The Johnson City Amateur Radio Association (JCARA) is one of the premier amateur radio organizations in Johnson City, Tennessee. Established in 1958, JCARA has long been a foundation for amateur radio operators in the region, offering a dynamic combination of technical expertise, community service, and a passion for the world of radio communications.
A Storied History
With more than 65 years of tradition, the Johnson City Amateur Radio Association has fostered a strong and growing membership. The club currently boasts 49 members, all of whom are licensed and involved in activities ranging from digital modes and DX (long-distance communication) to emergency services and VHF/UHF communication.
JCARA is a proud affiliate of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and serves as a vital part of the Tennessee amateur radio community.
