Hungary: Pataky István Technical School's Radio Circle (HA5KPI) and the Ganz Rádióklub Award

BUDAPEST, Hungary — The Pataky István Híradásipari és Informatikai Technikum Rádiós Szakköre (Pataky István Telecommunication and Informatics Technical School Radio Circle), operating under the callsign HA5KPI, is a specialized amateur radio circle nestled within the Budapest Vocational Training Centre. It is affiliated with the Ganz Rádióklub, a prominent name in Hungarian amateur radio. The club's location is Bp. X. Salgótarjáni út 53/b.

The Ganz Rádióklub Award: A Challenge for Operators

The Ganz Rádióklub offers an engaging Award to recognize operators who establish sufficient connections with their club members and club stations. To earn this electronic diploma, a total of 100 points are required.

Here's how the scoring works:

  • Club Members' Callsigns:

    • 5 points per contact with a club member's callsign.
    • Rule: You need to contact at least 7 different club members, with a maximum of 2 QSOs (contacts) per individual club member's callsign. (Note: The example suggests 10 points for certain members, which might imply multiple QSOs. Clarification via the club's contact is recommended for precise scoring details if the example contradicts the rule).
  • Club Callsigns:

    • 15 points per contact with a club callsign.
    • Rule: You must contact at least 2 different club callsigns, with a maximum of one contact per club callsign for point accumulation.
    • Information on club callsigns can be found at ha5kfz.hu.
  • Operating Mode: All operating modes and frequencies are valid, except for repeater contacts.

Example for 100 points: HA5JX x3, HA5BLK x2, HA7SO x2, HA7JIR x2, HA6MW x2, DG5LP x2, HG9OQ, HA7FB, HA5KFZ, HA5KPI x2 (10+10+10+10+10+10+5+5+15+15 = 100 points) (Note: The example's scoring for individual members (e.g., HA5JX x3 = 10 points) seems to deviate from the "5 points / QSO" rule. It's advisable to clarify if it means 5 points per unique callsign up to 2 QSOs, or if more than 2 QSOs with a single member provide a flat 10 points, as implied by the example. The "max 2 QSOs per callsign" rule for members should be strictly adhered to by applicants).

Award Application and Submission

To ensure contacts can be verified, it's highly recommended to search for EQSL-enabled members' callsigns.

To apply for the Award, you need to send either a generated ADI or TXT file from EQSL.cc, or the QSO details (Your Callsign, Other Callsigns, Band, Time, Mode, Report, etc.) by email. If sending a file from EQSL, please also list the callsigns in the email body and provide a return email address for receiving the Award.

The Award is issued in electronic format only; paper diplomas are not sent.

Applications should be sent to: level@proc.hu

Upon successful application, your callsign will be displayed on the Ganz Rádióklub's website, recognizing your achievement.

The Ganz Rádióklub team wishes all participants happy radio operations! 73!
