Get Active with Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association (KE5LIO)!

Calling all ham radio enthusiasts in central Mississippi, especially those in the Brandon area! The Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association (CMSARA), an ARRL Special Service Club since 2007, offers a unique and active environment for radio operators of all experience levels.

Why Choose Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association?

  • Focus on Activity and Inclusivity: CMSARA was founded with the goal of being an "association" rather than a traditional club. They prioritize activity, new ideas, and member participation. They actively reject elitism and authoritarianism, welcoming hams of all license classes and backgrounds.
  • Diverse Activities and Interests: They cater to a wide range of interests with specialties in contesting, digital modes, general discussions, public service communication, repeaters, and even fostering the next generation of hams through their school or youth group focus. They also publish a club newsletter.
  • Supportive Learning Environment: They offer entry-level and general license classes, license testing sessions, and on-the-air bulletins, providing valuable resources for those seeking to obtain their amateur radio license and grow their knowledge.

Meeting Information:

The Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association typically holds meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Currently, meetings are being held virtually on the 147.345 repeater or via Zoom.

In-person meetings, when they resume, will be held at the Rankin County EOC Building located at 601 Marquette Rd, Brandon, MS 39042.
