The Mesilla Valley Radio Club (N5BL) offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for operators of all experience levels. From offering entry-level licensing classes to hosting a yearly Hamfest, the Mesilla Valley Radio Club fosters a spirit of learning, camaraderie, and service in the exciting world of ham radio.

• Founded in 1954: The Mesilla Valley Radio Club boasts a long and successful history of supporting ham radio enthusiasts in the region.
• Large and Vibrant Membership: With over 100 members, all of whom are voting members and licensed amateur operators, the club provides a platform for connecting with fellow operators and sharing your passion for ham radio.
• Strong National Connection: A significant portion of the voting members (68) are also ARRL members, highlighting the club's connection to the national organization, which provides resources and support for amateur radio enthusiasts.

Diverse Interests and Activities:

• Something for Everyone: The club caters to a wide range of ham radio pursuits, including contesting, digital modes, DX communication, general discussions, public service, repeaters, VHF/UHF communication, and even outreach to schools or youth groups.
• Develop Your Skills: The club offers entry-level and potentially general or higher license classes, empowering you to expand your knowledge and obtain new licenses (availability may vary).
• Test Your Might: Prepare for your ham radio license exam with the club's Volunteer Examiner Leader (VEL), Patrick Chambers W6VJT. Exams are typically held after monthly meetings (around 10:30 AM) - contact Pat to schedule (w6vjt@comcast.net).

Convenient Meeting Schedule and Location:

• Regular Meetings: The club meets on the 1st Saturday of each month at 8:45 AM (with social hour starting at 8:00 AM) at the Clubhouse located at 6609 Jefferson Ave., Las Cruces, NM. Meetings are also held virtually on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.
• Labor Day Exception: In September, due to Labor Day, the club meets and conducts testing on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
