NBARC: Your Gateway to Ham Radio in North Bay

Established to serve North Bay and the surrounding region, NBARC offers a vibrant and welcoming community for ham radio operators of all experience levels.

Why Join NBARC?

  • Connect with Fellow Hams: Attend their regular monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of every month (except July, August, and December) at the OPP RHQ Community Boardroom in North Bay. Meetings kick off at 7:30 PM ET, with doors opening around 7:15 PM for casual meet-and-greet.
  • Coffee & Conversation: Enjoy casual chats with fellow ham enthusiasts every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM local time at the Northgate Square food court, in front of A&W.
  • Develop Your Skills: NBARC offers courses on acquiring your Amateur Qualification, depending on member interest. This will unlock the full potential of ham communication. Contact the club for details on upcoming courses.
  • Stay Informed and Engaged: Participate in club activities and events, including:
    • Field Day: An annual event celebrating ham radio and showcasing its capabilities.
    • Community Support: NBARC supports local community events by providing safety communication services for events like walkathons, triathlons, and races.
    • December Christmas Party: Celebrate the holidays and connect with fellow members at the annual Christmas Party.
  • Multiple Repeater Access: Benefit from NBARC's repeater network, including VE3ERX (Powassan), VE3NFM (North Bay), and VE3NFM-15 (APRS), ensuring smooth communication within their coverage areas. VE3ERX also offers IRLP and Echolink connectivity for broader communication options.
  • Get Licensed: Paul Caccamo (VA3PC) and Guy Leblond (VE3PUP) are both accredited examiners who can help you on your path to becoming a licensed ham radio operator.
