Attention ham radio enthusiasts in west-central Louisiana! The West Central Louisiana Amateur Radio Club (WCLARC), operating under the call sign W5LSV, welcomes anyone interested in learning about, exploring, and enjoying the many facets of ham radio.
A Tradition of Camaraderie
Founded in 1985, WCLARC boasts a long-standing commitment to fostering a community of ham radio operators. With over 30 active members, the club provides a supportive environment for beginners and seasoned operators alike. Whether you're fascinated by DX (long-distance communication), enjoy participating in contests, or simply want to connect with fellow radio enthusiasts, WCLARC offers something for everyone.
What the West Central Louisiana ARC Offers:
- Become Licensed: WCLARC provides entry-level and potentially higher license classes to equip you with the knowledge and skills to obtain your amateur radio license.
- Test Your Knowledge: The club offers licensing exam sessions, so you can qualify to become a licensed operator.

- Experience the Broader Ham Radio Community: WCLARC even hosts a hamfest (date to be announced), a gathering of ham radio enthusiasts offering a chance to buy, sell, and trade equipment, as well as connect with fellow operators from across the region.
- Combat Interference: The club has a dedicated TVI/RFI Committee to help members troubleshoot and address any interference issues they might encounter.
