We’re delighted to share the wonderful news from the recent Cuyahoga Falls ARC Hamfest in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Talkpod was honored to donate ten A36 HTs as prizes to help encourage youth participation in amateur radio—and the results were fantastic!
Celebrating Young Enthusiasts
According to Jim Berry (WA3JAT), Trustee of the Cuyahoga Falls ARC, the hamfest drew plenty of energetic attendees aged 25 and under. All ten Talkpod A36 radios found homes with deserving young operators—some already holding Extra Class licenses! Impressively, three of the winners were sisters, with Katie Campbell (correct spelling) being the oldest at high school 11th Grade level.
Welcoming New Operators
A few budding hams earned their Technician licenses at the hamfest’s VE session. While they couldn’t claim a prize this time, it’s fantastic to see new operators joining the community—and we hope to see them on the air soon!
Spreading the Word
The Cuyahoga Falls ARC gave prominent publicity to Talkpod and all sponsoring companies, not only at the event but also through their club newsletter—something we greatly appreciate. It’s rewarding to see how these partnerships help spotlight youth involvement in amateur radio.
Looking Ahead
We’re thrilled to have played a role in supporting this successful event. Promoting the next generation of ham radio enthusiasts is a key part of Talkpod’s vision, and we look forward to more opportunities to help youth discover the joys and possibilities of amateur radio.
To everyone at the Cuyahoga Falls ARC—thank you for your dedication and for letting us be a part of your special day. 73!
