The Cuyahoga Amateur Radio Society (CARS), operating under the call sign K8ZFR, is a prominent ARRL Special Service Club in Ohio. Dedicated to advancing amateur radio and fostering community connections, CARS stands out as a beacon of activity and mentorship in the region.


About CARS

CARS was officially affiliated with the ARRL on January 17, 1991, and has grown into a vibrant community of 102 members, including 66 ARRL members. The club caters to a wide range of amateur radio interests, including contests, digital modes, DXing, public service, emergency communications, and VHF/UHF operations.


Meetings and Events

CARS hosts regular meetings and activities to engage its members:

  • Meeting Schedule: Held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM, except in December.
  • Location: Busch Funeral Home Community Room.

The club is also known for organizing special events, licensing classes, and on-the-air activities.
