"Galette des Rois" 2025: A Warm Start to the Year

The ARCS, in collaboration with ADRASEC 2A (the Departmental Association of Radio Amateurs for Civil Security), recently organized a festive "Galette des Rois" (Kings' Cake) event on January 9, 2025. This annual gathering brought together the department's radio amateurs, with 13 OMs (operators) and YLs (female operators) answering the call.

Held at the ADRASEC premises, the event was a convivial occasion for members to share galettes and "good bottles," fostering a strong sense of community. Discussions ranged widely, from the intricacies of digital modes to the essential preparation for obtaining an amateur radio license, highlighting the club's diverse interests and its role in nurturing new talent.

During the festivities, the weekly TKNet QSO (on-air meeting) was conducted directly from the premises, though it was humorously noted that it ended up being "shortened" due to the lively atmosphere of the party. The evening extended late, with participants only leaving when "forced to" to avoid triggering the alarm.

The ARCS took the opportunity to reiterate their wishes for a happy 2025, reflecting the warm and welcoming spirit of the club. Events like the Galette des Rois underscore the social fabric that binds the amateur radio community, making it more than just a technical hobby but a true community.
